Silence of the Heart                                             Il silenzio del cuore

I am alone for a while                                         Sono solo per un po’

And find me thinking                            E mi ritrovo a pensare

About His place on earth                                      Al Suo posto sulla terra

From the silence all around                                  Dal silenzio tutt’attorno

I hear a voice so profound                                    Odo una voce dal profondo

 

I walk on clouds I have never seen                        Passeggio su nubi che non ho mai visto

I swim in oceans that don't exist                            Nuoto in oceani che non esistono

I smell flowers I have never picked                       Annuso fiori che non ho mai colto

The world within me has                                        Il mondo dentro me tiene

Your face your shape your smell                            Il tuo volto la tua forma il tuo profumo

 

I locked the silence in my heart                             Ho rinchiuso il silenzio nel mio cuore

I am afraid to let it go                                           Ho paura di lasciarlo andare

To lose the treasure I have hidden                         Perdere il tesoro che ho nascosto

Don’t touch that key it holds my fears                  Non toccar quella chiave tiene le mie                                                                                                                                                                                                    paure

My happiness my tears                                        La mia felicità le mie lagrime

 

I walk on streets never known                               Passeggio su strade mai conosciute

I cross bridges not yet built                                  Attraverso ponti non ancora costruiti

I sing of loves I have never found                         Canto amori che non ho mai trovato

As I climbed mountains to the top I find               Mentre scalo montagne fin in cima trovo

Your face your shape your smell                           Il tuo volto la tua forma il tuo profumo

With moonlight eyes silk-like skin              Occhi di luna pelle di seta

Will you stay one more day?                      Puoi stare ancora un giorno?

Why are you goin’ away?                           Perché te ne vuoi andare?

Why not take a chance and stay?                 Perché non rischiare e restare?

 

Mystical woman at the county fair              Mistica donna alla fiera del villaggio

Men and women sigh and stare                   Uomini e donne sospirano al miraggio

Everyone dreamin’ to hold you tight           Sognan tutti di stringerti fortemente

Couldn’t fight love at first sight                   Combattendo l’amore inutilmente

 

Will you come back this way?                    Ritornerai mai qui intorno?

Will you stay one more day?                      Puoi stare ancora un giorno?

I feel the love and all its powers                 L’amore ha il soppravvento

Sleepless in the midnight hours                  Insonne sicuro del suo portento

Standing all alone in the rain                      Solo solingo sotto la pioggia

Looking for comfort to my pain                 Senza saper dove il dolore poggia
